Are all Amazon chargebacks legit? - Vendor Central

Chargebacks of any kind are time consuming and aggravating for any business.  In a 1P relationship (Vendor Central) with Amazon you can expect some of these common chargebacks:

1. Chargebacks for Late Shipments: When vendors fail to ship their products within the agreed-upon timeframe, Amazon may impose chargebacks for late shipments.

2. Chargebacks for Early Shipments: Amazon may chargeback vendors if they ship products earlier than the agreed-upon delivery window.

3. Chargebacks for Shipping Errors: Chargebacks can occur if vendors send incorrect or incomplete shipments, leading to order discrepancies.

4. Chargebacks for Shortages: If vendors fail to fulfill the complete quantity of an order, they may face chargebacks for shortages.

5. Chargebacks for Damaged Goods: Amazon may impose chargebacks if products arrive at their fulfillment centers or customers in a damaged condition.

6. Chargebacks for Pricing Errors: If vendors fail to update their pricing accurately or if pricing discrepancies are identified, chargebacks may be imposed.

7. Chargebacks for Compliance Violations: Amazon enforces strict compliance requirements, and failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in chargebacks.

8. Chargebacks for Violating Packaging Requirements: Vendors must meet specific packaging guidelines for their products, and non-compliance may lead to chargebacks.

9. Chargebacks for Labeling Issues: Incorrect or missing labels on products can result in chargebacks from Amazon.

10. Chargebacks for Non-Compliant Invoicing: If vendors do not provide accurate and compliant invoices, they may face chargebacks.

11. Chargebacks for Overdue Collections: When vendors owe Amazon money due to various reasons, such as fees or debits, and fail to make timely payments, chargebacks may be applied.

Now while some chargebacks may be legit sometimes these chargebacks need to be challenged or disputed.  This process can be overwhelming and can get away from your organization.  In most cases, there is only a 90 day window to dispute most of these, but there are some cases where you can audit a couple years.  I have a buddy that was an Amazon team member and knows all the ins and outs. I am sure he could help your organization recover precious capital!  Check him out https://oepcompany.com/team-member/andy-burger/ and good luck.
